Caldi Tailwright was a student at Ardridge University. A fellow library upkeep student, Caldi and Klaes Cadogin considered each other their best friends.
Caldi was an accomplished magical duelist, much more so than Klaes whom she beat during the Green Feather Guild's annual Bracket Contest.
During Klaes' duel with his roommate Byran Brogue, Caldi functioned as Klaes' second and cast The Weapons Weapon, a spell forbidden in Ardridge's duelling code, on Byran after the latter attacked Klaes with another forbidden spell.
One of Caldi and Klaes' final adventures together saw the two purchase a set of matching daggers. Klaes departed from Ardridge without telling Caldi of his plans, which upset her to a great degree. During his travels, he composed a series of letters to her, but ultimately did not manage to deliver any of them before his death.
After the events at Torryen, Idari visited Caldi and Bug and gave them Klaes' final letters, informing them of their friend's death.
