This page is a subsection of the page formatting section of the Manual of Style that explains how session pages should be formatted.

General Rules

Opening Sentences

The first few sentences should specify the session name, the session number, the campaign it took place in, and the date the session was run on. The session number can be omitted if not relevant, and the date of the session is based on the GM's timezone.

For example, this is not an acceptable opening sentence:

Buck Wild was a Spireloft Session.

This is far too vague and doesn't provide enough information at a glance. Here's how it can be reformatted:

Buck Wild was the 17th session of Spireloft. It was run on December 23rd, 2023...

Content Order

This is the general order of headings for session pages. If a heading is not applicable, it does not have to be included.

  • Plot Summary
  • NPC Appearances
  • Gallery
  • Trivia
  • References

The Plot Summary should contain a brief overview of the location and may include geographic location, the history, or descriptions of the terrain. It may also contain descriptions of prominent locations or inhabitants, provided they are relevant to the text.

The Known Locations and Known Residents sections should be bulleted lists that either link to a page about a location (e.g. shops, buildings, etc.) or character but if none is available, a brief description may suffice. Each list element should be bolded. For Nation pages, Known Residents should be named Known Citizens. Characters who temporarily lived in a certain location should still be added, not just 'current' characters. Descriptions can be added if necessary, but this should be done only for explaining odd cases or if a character has no page of their own.

The Appearances section should be a bulleted list of all sessions or documents that reference the location.

Weathia Locations

All location pages should include a link to Weathia (world) and the respective nation in the opening paragraph. If the location only exists outside of the Prime universe, please wait until further notice on how these should be formatted.

Spireloft Locations

All location pages should include a link to Spireloft (world) and the respective nation in the opening paragraph.

The page should be tagged as Spireloft, Spireloft Locations, and Locations. See the Erumita page as a reference.
