Aucteracten is a city in [[Spireloft (world)|Spireloft]. It is the largest city in north-eastern Ante. Its location as the closest major city to the Antan territory of Aigrot has given it a unique culture.
Description
Aucteracten was notable for its network of bridges connecting building far above the street level. These bridges connected not only personal residences, but also businesses which allowed for some residents to live their daily lives without ever coming down to the ground.
Aucteracten had a significant social divide, even for Ante, with the wealthier residents occupying the upper floors while the poorer residents stuck to the street level.
The population of Aucteracten had a significant Aigrotian presence, with many coming to Aucteracten to seek employment. This was reflected in the architecture as well, with even the bridges being an adaptation of traditional Aigrotian village architecture.
Much like the rest of Ante, Aucteracten did not have an official police presence, with nobles instead hiring private guards.
