“ It's just water! „ — Haymer in The High Druid
Haymer was a Spireloft character who was an adventurer and a member of the Covert Counters.
Visual Description[edit | edit source]
Haymer was a pudgy, red kobold who usually carried a large backpack. He wielded a mallet as his weapon of choice.
History[edit | edit source]
Pre-Campaign[edit | edit source]
Haymer grew up in Lorecia and eventually became acquainted with Bessa Nesthand and Dewsort. The three of them became The Iron Torches, an adventuring party that worked under a guild called the Covert Counters. They would often go on expeditions into Woodhollow to scalp for artifacts to become guild property.
In The Day the Moon Blinked, the Iron Torches faced an inconvenience regarding their tent's floor ripping, resulting in Bessa needing to get dry leaves to pad the ground as they slept. Haymer discussed the team's cohesiveness and ability to stick together with Dewsort who seemed less than hopeful. When Bessa returned, distressed about having seen the moon disappear, the two of them agreed to not inform Dewsort of what she had seen.
Campaign[edit | edit source]
In Wibble Wiping, Haymer had woken up to see his home full of wibbles, leading him to panic and attempt to look for help at the Arena where Bessa would have been competing. To his fortune, the tournament was cancelled and a job board was put up as consolidation for the inconvenience, where he stood asking for help. There, he met Tarot Sagebend, Klaes, Rift, Gerardanson, and Efbeyar, whom he recruited to help deal with his wibble infestation.
He led the group to the Covert Counters, where he intended to pick up his hammer. The group was then informed that Haymer's home was being targeted by a group of bandits due to his wibble problem being caused by him having hoarded a large amount of artifacts and not turning them in to the guild, putting urgency on the group's actions.
At Haymer's home, the group faced off against the bandits to protect the guild's property as Haymer watched from a corner inside of his house. The group then returned for payment, in which Haymer also implied they may be able to see the High Priest of Lorecia as reward as well. This was proven to be false as Respa would inform the newly developed Group 7422 that said High Priest was missing.
Before Mission to Manor Mendrow, Haymer had apparently bet against the entire guild that Group 7422 would find the missing high priest. It is unknown when or if he received any payout.
During A Priest, a Politician, and a Loan Shark Walk Into a Bar, Haymer answered the call from E-MARI for a Covert Counters representative to arrive and support Group 7422's case in becoming an official part of Lorecia's Investigative Division.
